Dayton City Manager Discusses Hospice of Dayton

At the 3:20 mark of this video, Dayton City Manager Tim Riordan talks about Shroyer Park neighbor institution Hospice of Dayton.  The City Manager points out:
  • Hospice of Dayton employs over 600 individuals
  • Started in 1978, Hospice of Dayton was one of the first three or four hospices in the United States
  • It is one of the biggest in the state and has one of the best performance records
  • Only seven percent of individuals under Hospice care actually come to the Wilmington Ave. facility, all others are in-home
  • The institution has a strong commitment to the community and should be recognized for their efforts
The stability of the Shroyer Park Neighborhood is linked with the future of the many institutions in the vicinity, including Hospice, the University of Dayton, and 10 Wilmington Place so it was good to hear this discussion of their standing.
