In The News: Brown/Irving Commerical Development

A recent DDN article by Terry Morris (July 20, 2013) said that a coffee shop, Saxbys, sought a variance to open at 6:00 a.m., rather than 7:00 a.m.  The Oakwood Boad of Zoning Appeals denied the request, which was opposed by seven Oakwood residents in the area.

Probably of most interest is that the article goes on the say that the owner turned down an offer from CVS to occupy the entire development.  I'm sure at least one person--me--would have visited a CVS a heck of a lot more than another coffee shop/another sandwich shop/another frozen yogurt strip center.

Either way, the commerical activity is good to see and the building is looking pretty good, although would look much better built to the right-of-way.
